JOB DESCRIPTION

Reading and Interpreting Blueprints
Analyze and understand the specifications of the construction blueprints, plans, or drawings to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks, and waste and drainage systems.

Measurement and calculation
Measure pipes and mark cutting or bending lines, using tools such as plumb bobs, rulers, squares, and pipe or tube cutters.

Cutting and Assembly:
Select and use appropriate tools to accurately cut and thread pipes. Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment, according to specifications, by welding, brazing, cementing, soldering, or threading joints.

Inspection
Inspect the workplace and work products to ensure conformance to specifications.

Maintenance
Maintain and repair all types of pipes, using hand and power tools.

System Testing
Test piping systems for leaks by increasing pressure in pipes and observing gauges.

Safety
